Fantastic application!. GMapCatcher is the best map program available. It also works perfectly offline on Linux Mint 17.x XFCE which is what I use. 2016-10-29. However there is much room for improvement. I'd like to see the following:1) When you use the downloader there should be a test mode with a flag say of --test which will tell you how many tiles will be downloaded, how much disk space, (and if you have that much space available on your disk), and how many hours it will take. Currently I downloaded a satellite depth of -2 with a width and height of 60. Hoping to download everything around here in roughly a twenty mile radius. It has been running for the last 12 hours over my phone's wi-fi tether and I have no idea how much longer it will take. If there was the test option I could set my expectations properly. Pros: Ability to view the surrounding areas offlineThat it works with Linux Cons: A ./download.py --test run ability which will tell you how much space will be needed, whether you have the space, and how long it will take given your present connection. To put this in a linux mint repository. Then get linux mint to pre-install it on their various desktop distros as part of the setup. This mapping software is awesome and needs exposure!

Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
